epiFUNNY :)
My comfort and certainty in this class pertaining to the quality of the works i produce are at their peaks, especially since the school year is winding down. i feel like im at the point where the sky is the limit and it doesnt take a conceptually complex project to create great pieces just works that have meaning and have roots from a certain part of my life. Whether its my thinking process, interaction with others, or activities that i partake in; ive come to realize that my strongest pieces arent those that i meticulously plan out or outline but the ones that are put together as i go on with my everyday life.

Project 3 proposal
My past two projects have been based on the human anatomy, more specifically my anatomical make-up as it has been shaped by years of diet and excercising. This inspiration stemmed from viewing the works of artist whos main focuses were capturing every detail and nuance of the human body in both proportion and likeness; these artists being past greats such as Leonardo and Michelangelo. However, after dedicating the past couple months to memicking their style i hope to stray off this path and incorporating similar elements that i put into the marathon project, in whihc i utilized transparent parchment paper and photographs. I am at the earlier brain storming stages at this point but i want this project to embody elements from my past two projects and my marathon assignment.

wha-tis drawing??this...
Many interpretations can be made when the word “drawing,” is discussed; drawing is an action or a set of actions that typically involves paper and a pencil. Hence, as an artist this is what I have learned and understood drawing to be. Some of the past greats such as Leonardo da Vinci’s and Michelangelo’s works I believe really embodied what it meant to draw. These artists were not just masters at drawing from observation but they were also very expressive with their strokes and marks while doing so, which made their drawings come to life. In other words, having the abilities to draw from observation and adding your personal style to a piece are what defines drawing. This is similar to the way I work as far as capturing every detail which I observe but not simply replicating but adding a sense of ownership whether it is the type of medium and even down to how I utilize said medium. One key challenge that I have faced during my many years as an artist and active drawer is capturing the visual weight of the object or model drawn and not simply copying what is seen. Hence, drawing requires a certain level of cognitive activity with the artist being knowledgeable of the drawing act and the reason behind it.
My foundation
The inspiration behind my work not only lies in pure fascination for anything dealing with detailed imagery and structures, but I am also driven by my freedom for interpretation and expression of whatever subject may be
